Why do Japanese villians usually have white/silver hair?

Examples I've noticed include Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII, Kuja from Final Fantasy IX, Xehanort from the Kingdom Hearts series, and Aion from Chrono Crusade.

That's a good question. In the Japanese anime, some characters have white/silver hair because cartoonists want them to look raceless, nationless, and religionless hominid. In most cases, young characters with white/silver hair are depicted as mysterious, humanoid-like creatures in manga (Japanese comics).

Well actually they don't, its when they get older their hair becomes grey quite like ours grey, white, silver looking. Final Fantasy and all them are just games, created people not real. Instance look at Jet Li Chinese yes but look no silver hair, Jackie Chan brown hair no silver, white, nor grey. When creating something or someone you can make them look however you want, just that in the games the white hair ninjas, assassins just look cool with their hair like that.

Because they are immortal beings...
