- Read the book and visit the sites below about curly hair. I did and my once horrible curly hair is now virtually frizz-free ringlets. Now I get compliments on my hair all the time! Straighten your hair- be happy for a day, learn to manage your curly hair- be happy for life!

- To style your hair using the curly-girl method you will need gel and conditioner at the minimum. Some less useful, but still nice stuff would be a blowdryer, a diffuser (reduces frizz in curly/wavy hair when used with dryer), and a microfiber hair turban (to dry wet hair while sleeping or in the morning).

-The main philosophy of the curly-girl method is to not use shampoo. This may sound unhygenic but it has actually made my hair less oily and dandruffy. Most shampoos contain some of the same chemicals found in laundry detergent (aka sodium laureth sulfate or anything close to that). They dry out curly hair. Also you shouldn't brush your curly hair dry because it damages the hair and makes it poof.

- Massaging of the scalp with conditioner to remove dirt is all that is needed. It will clean everything but super clingy silicones (cyclopentasiloxane and dimethicone are examples). Then rinse and spread conditioner on the outside layer of hair and the hair at the nape of your neck. Gently comb tangles out with your fingers or a wide toothed comb and rinse with cold/cool water.

- Do not brush/comb your hair after this point because it wil disturb the curl pattern (make sure you already have a part). It is also important to use gel on sopping wet hair and scrunch the hair with your fingers. Use a towel or paper towels to gently scrunch some of the water out. Then let your hair air dry or wait ten minutes and then use a blowdryer with a diffuser. Do not touch the hair while it is air drying or it will frizz!

- Use a moisturizing conditioner, such as Desert Essence Organics Italian Red Grape Conditioner (found at health food/organic stores). The combo of products that I use daily is Garnier Fuctis Sleek and Shine Leave In Cream and then Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Gel but there are more conditioners, gels, etc. on the websites.

- Your hair may seem worse at first, but it is just adjusting. This takes 2 to 4 weeks begin working.This is hard to do if you don't read the book, or at least visit the websites. Naturally curly hair can be beautiful! Hope this helps!

Hey im not Mixed but i am Black ...So try the hot comb maybe ur mamma has one if she is black just turn ur stove on high and put the comb on it and just part ur hair in sections and pull it through it is a very easy and pretty look.

If your hair has more black characteristics than white, I suggest you go to the experts a black hair dresser. I have adopted children and fostered children and young adults of all races. Each need to be taught the uniqueness of their hair care.

if you are sick of curls, but don't want to relax it, try chemical straightening. it isn't as harsh as relaxing, so you still have to use a flat iron, but it really helps tame your hair and it would probably still look very pretty curly with the right gel. I use 2 products when I go naturally curly: garnier fructis curl and shine leave in conditioner, and also their hard curl gel. using the conditioner first works great to smooth out the curls, and the gel defines and gives my hair some hold. either way, chemical straightening is definitely something you should look at. good luck, hope you find something you like!

Get this book for curly chicks "Curly Girl" by Lorraine Massey. I bought this and found tons of great tips on how to care for, wash and style curly hair. Few good ones" do not wash your hair with regular shampoo that contains sodium lauryl sulfate, use only clear gel (the colored stuff makes the hair look matte), condition a lot. Hope that helps!

sally'ds beauty supply has the best stuff for your situation its shine serum , its in the purple bottle. put that when your hair is towel dried and then blowdry or brush your hair and blow dry.

It will really tone down the curls and eliminate frizz , to that it makes hair so soft I get compliments all the time. I credit that for it.

You should get a very mild relaxer. They are easy to find at grocery stores and at beauty supply or salons (preferrably black). Also, you can get a ceramic hair straightener on eBay for a pretty reasonable price. I braid, or straighten or just let it flow at times. I have fine yet thick hair that I don't need to really straighten most times, but when I do want it really straight I have a ceramic hair straightener. I also use Pantene hair shampoo and conditioners. They are so good for fine to coarse hair. It's like a salon at home.

well first off get a god straightner i recommend the sedu from www.folica.com then get a good hair product such as sunsilk anti frizz cream or sunsilk straighten up cream... the then straighten then put anti frizz stuff after you should have beautiffaly sof and silky hair after and so much more easirer to maintain...
