chances are that they are in the beginning stage of splitting. just have it trimmed and you will be fine. if you don't trim it then you will notice the split.

No its just breakage, most likely from heat if you curl or straighten you hair alot, I get it too. Just use a heating serum so it protects your hair from damage, and get your hair cut every 6 - 8 weeks. =]
